Our Services

Four programmes. One community.

SalamaNet's services are built around the real, interconnected challenges that individuals and families face. Each programme is designed to be culturally responsive, community-led, and genuinely accessible to all.

All services are free to access and open to everyone. No referral is required.

Programme 1

Digital Inclusion

Bridging the digital divide, one person at a time.

Digital exclusion is one of the most significant barriers to opportunity in modern life. SalamaNet's digital inclusion programme works to ensure that no individual or family is left behind in an increasingly digital world.

  • Digital literacy workshops and one-to-one skills coaching
  • Device access support and signposting to affordable connectivity schemes
  • Online safety education — protecting individuals from scams, exploitation, and harmful content
  • Support for older adults and those with limited prior digital experience
  • Guidance on accessing online public services, healthcare, and benefits
  • Tailored support for young people navigating social media and the internet safely

Who this is for

Older adults, digitally excluded individuals, families without internet access, young people at risk of online harm, and anyone who feels left behind by technology.

  • Peer support networks for those living with chronic illness
  • Signposting to NHS services, specialist care, and community health resources
  • Emotional and practical support for patients and their families
  • Advocacy support — helping individuals navigate healthcare systems with confidence
  • Culturally responsive wellbeing sessions addressing mental health and resilience

Who this is for

Individuals living with sickle cell anaemia or other chronic conditions, their families and carers, and communities experiencing health inequalities.

Standing alongside families when the system feels overwhelming.

Caring for a family member with a long-term illness, disability, or neurodevelopmental condition can be isolating and exhausting. SalamaNet provides practical, emotional, and navigational support to help families thrive.

  • Support for parents and carers of neurodiverse children and young people
  • Guidance on accessing education, EHCP processes, and SEND support
  • Carer wellbeing sessions — recognising and addressing carer burnout
  • Practical help navigating benefits, housing, and social care systems
  • Family-centred workshops on communication, resilience, and self-advocacy
  • Peer support groups for carers and families in similar situations

Who this is for

Carers, parents of neurodiverse children, spouses and family members of those with chronic illness, and families navigating complex support systems.

Social Connection

Building community where isolation once stood.

Social isolation affects people of all ages and backgrounds, but is particularly acute among those dealing with illness, disability, or cultural and language barriers. SalamaNet creates spaces where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and connected.

What this programme includes

  • Community events, social gatherings, and cultural celebrations
  • Befriending and peer mentoring programmes
  • Intergenerational connection activities
  • Safe spaces for open conversation and shared experience
  • Signposting to local community groups, volunteering, and social activities
  • Online community spaces for those unable to attend in person

Who this is for

Socially isolated individuals, older adults, those recently bereaved or separated, people new to Leeds, and anyone who feels disconnected from their community.

How to Access Support

Getting support is straightforward

We've made it as easy as possible to access our services. No referral, no waiting list jargon — just a conversation.

Get in touch

Reach out via our contact form, email, or phone. No referral is needed — you can self-refer or contact us on behalf of someone else.

Initial conversation

We'll have a friendly, informal conversation to understand your situation and identify which of our programmes or services might be most helpful.

Tailored support

We'll connect you with the right support — whether that's one of our programmes, a community group, or a partner organisation better placed to help.

Ongoing relationship

We don't just signpost and step away. We maintain a relationship with the people we support, checking in and adapting as needs change.

Not sure which service is right for you?

That's completely fine. Get in touch and we'll have a conversation about your situation — no pressure, no jargon. We'll help you find the right support, whether that's with us or another organisation.
