CEO & Founder, SalamaNet C.I.C
Cybersecurity Consultant
Neurodiverse Parent & Advocate
Community Leader & Digital Inclusion Champion
Lived experience at the heart of SalamaNet.
My lived experience sits at the intersection of cybersecurity, neurodiversity, and complex family care. It is not background context — it is the foundation on which SalamaNet was built.
I know what it means to live with overlapping pressures: digital exclusion, neurodiversity, caregiving responsibilities, and systemic barriers — and to continue functioning within them.
Cybersecurity Expertise
As a cybersecurity consultant, Jeff understands how quickly individuals and families become exposed — not only to cyber threats, but to misinformation, exploitation, and systemic disadvantage when digital access and literacy are limited.
Neurodiverse Identity
Jeff is neurodiverse and a parent raising six neurodiverse children. He lives daily with the realities of navigating systems that are not designed with neurodiverse individuals or carers in mind.
Caregiving Resilience
Raising neurodiverse children while managing broader life demands has required advocacy, emotional resilience, and the ability to navigate fragmented support systems — including confronting cultural misconceptions about special needs.
Community Commitment
This dual perspective gives Jeff a grounded understanding of the issues SalamaNet seeks to address — ensuring no individual or family feels unsupported, unheard, or excluded in an increasingly digital world.
“As a cybersecurity consultant, I work in a field that demands constant awareness of risk, digital vulnerability, and the consequences of exclusion from safe and informed online spaces.”
I understand how quickly individuals and families can become exposed — not only to cyber threats, but to misinformation, exploitation, and systemic disadvantage when digital access and literacy are limited.
At the same time, I am neurodiverse and a parent raising six neurodiverse children. This has shaped my understanding far beyond theory or professional training. I live daily with the realities of navigating systems that are not designed with neurodiverse individuals or carers in mind. These challenges have not existed in isolation; both my professional journey and family life have required resilience, adaptation, and persistence under continuous pressure.
Within my career, I have encountered barriers linked to a misunderstanding of neurodiversity, rigid workplace expectations, and limited awareness of inclusive communication and thinking styles. These experiences have influenced how I approach cybersecurity, recognising that systems often fail not because of technology alone, but because they are not designed with diverse human needs in mind.
“I have also encountered cultural misconceptions, including being told that special needs are spiritually connected. This highlights a significant risk that many African families may be misled or discouraged from seeking appropriate support.”
At home, raising neurodiverse children while managing broader life demands has required advocacy, emotional resilience, and the ability to navigate fragmented support systems. I have experienced first-hand the gaps in culturally sensitive support, the isolation that families can face, and the lack of joined-up services for those dealing with multiple challenges simultaneously.
This reinforces the need for accurate information, culturally sensitive guidance, and trusted signposting — ensuring families receive the right support without stigma or misinformation.
SalamaNet aims to work with and support Black African communities, though not exclusively, including individuals and families affected by conditions such as sickle cell anaemia and those who care for them. It also recognises the importance of supporting neurodiverse individuals and families through appropriate signposting, awareness, and culturally informed engagement.
This dual perspective gives me a grounded understanding of the issues SalamaNet C.I.C seeks to address. I understand the importance of inclusive approaches that challenge harmful misconceptions while respecting cultural contexts.
My contribution to SalamaNet is therefore not only professional but deeply personal.
I bring both technical expertise in cybersecurity and lived insight into resilience, inclusion, and the importance of building systems — digital and community-based — that are accessible, safe, and responsive to real-life complexity. This lived experience underpins my commitment to ensuring that no individual or family feels unsupported, unheard, or excluded in an increasingly digital and demanding world.
